How do we get over our fear of rejection, so we can take action to grow our network marketing business? And how many “No”s does it really take to get to 6 figures?

How many "No"s Does it Take to Get to Six Figures?
I was listening to an MLM Nation podcast episode recently, where Simon Chan interviewed Kristine Drummond. She mentioned that she’s had 2,500 “No”s over the last 7 years. Simon estimates it took him around 2,000.
I felt called to train on this because “No” is one of the most scary words to a lot of network marketers. This fear can paralyze us from even talking to people. 2500 “No”s? That may be making you feel a bit queasy right now just thinking about it.
How does your body react when you start to think about asking for the sale or transitioning a conversation to offering a business opportunity?
Does your stomach turn into knots? Does your throat tighten up? Do your hands get sweaty? Do you suddenly have to pee?
I totally get it.
But I want to challenge you to flip your mindset on this & retrain your brain to think about it a different way & I’ve got 3 tips to help you do that today.
Tip #1 - Change Your Goal to Reduce Your Fear
First, we know now that 6 figures can happen with let’s say 2500 “No”s. What can you do with this info?
We tend to get into this trap of wishing & hoping for a “Yes” when we reach out to people with our opportunity or product, but what if you go for “No” instead? What if your GOAL were to get to 2500 “No”s, so you could hit 6 figures? Or 250 “No’s in order to get to $1,000/mo?
What action would you take?
How fast could you do it? How fast WILL you do it? How many “No”s can you get this week?

Tip #2 - Make it About Others, Not Yourself
My 2nd tip to get over your fear of rejection in network marketing is to think about who you are not helping, by not reaching out.
Who loses if you don’t win?
There is some mom out there who crying in the bathroom stall at work on her lunch break, because she is desperate to stay at home with her children & praying for an answer.
There is someone out there desperate to lose weight so he can roll around with his kids on the floor or play with them at the park or feel sexy for his wife. The list goes on, but the point is, they lose if you don’t win.
If you never reach out, they never get that prayer answered. You have the power to change lives! Isn’t that one of the reasons you got into this network marketing business? To help other people?
I want to add one more thing here… When someone says “no”, it’s not usually about YOU. It’s usually about THEM & often just means “not right now.”
Tip #3 - Get Over Your Fear of No By Treating Prospecting Like a Muscle
Prospecting just takes practice. It works like a muscle. The more you talk to people, the easier it will get for you & you’ll start to relax into the process more & actually start to ENJOY it.
I know this was the case for me & as I’ve switched gears a bit to create more training & haven’t had as many prospecting conversations, I’ve seen how out of practice I can get at times.
Remember when you first learned to drive a car & it just seemed too complicated & scary & you were overthinking EVERYTHING… checking your tires, checking your mirrors, your seat position, trying to figure out how far away from the stop sign you should start braking? After you spent several hours practicing driving, you started to get more & more comfortable with it.
You lost that anxious feeling when you got in the car. You could relax into it a little & sing with the radio or hold a conversation with your passengers. Now, you just do it. You don’t think twice about it, you just hop in the car & do the dang thing.
You’ve built up that muscle & your brain doesn’t have to work so hard at it, you don’t dread it or feel anxious, you’re not worried. In fact, you’re probably pretty confident about your skills, even.
THAT is what practicing a new skill does for you & THAT is how it works with prospecting as well. You don’t have to know all the perfect words to say. It doesn’t matter if people say “No” or not. YOU are building a new skill. YOU are learning how to become a master of growing your own home business. You’re in charge of your own success here. It’s just up to you to take action.
