It’s time to get a bit vulnerable and share our health journey and what we’ve been doing to lose the mom & dad bods this year! This is super hard for me because it’s the type of struggle I tend to keep to myself and deal with quietly.

My husband and I were never fat before. In fact, I was always thin as a rail (trying to GAIN weight) and he was always very fit from being a swimmer back in high school. But having kids and hitting our 30s changed that a bit. We got into some bad habits, lost a lot of sleep (Ninja Tip: did you know that sleep can play a HUGE role in weight loss?), and had a lot more stress just from life.

I was proud of being a mom, but I hated my new mom body with the muffin top… I was skinny fat and had diastasis recti as well (abdominal separation causing my belly to push out)…which let’s be real, just made me look like a Dr. Seuss character. I felt ashamed of my body for the first time in my entire life. I just wanted to run & hide 🙁
My husband, who was always much more fit/athletic than me had put on an extra 15lbs that was really starting to show.
We both had zero energy and could barely function some days. It was terrible! We knew we had to make a change and get it together, so we could be more present for and active with our kids and just do life better. We were not being the awesome humans we were created to be 🙁
In January, we decided to TAKE ACTION. Enough was enough! No more excuses. We didn’t want to look or feel like this any more! We knew we needed help though. Bye bye mom bod! I haven’t closed up my diastasis recti yet, so sometimes my belly still sticks out a bit (food baby, ugh), but I’ve lost most of the extra pounds, which I’m super excited about! The even more exciting thing for me is the steady energy that I get from these supplements. I don’t feel like a zombie any more, I feel HUMAN again. It’s completely changed my life! In case you’re thinking I took those before pictures right after I had my baby, my youngest was actually 3 1/2 years old when I snapped them.
Bye bye dad bod! My man is so much happier now that he’s flattened his belly back out and lost 15lbs. He’s back to being more active again with his hobbies and looking sexy, if I do say so myself 😉
