My current business was really birthed out of discovering online attraction marketing, finding a network marketing company that encourages us to brand ourselves, aligning myself with some amazing leaders & trainers in the industry, and making the decision to really get consistent and focused on growing my business, as well as teaching others. Now I want to teach you how to grow your business as well, so let’s dive in…
What is Attraction Marketing?
Attraction Marketing is really about the art of attracting the RIGHT people into your products, service, or opportunity who are already interested in what you’re doing. This is primarily done through providing value and creating curiosity, but also through sharing your story & just being yourself in a way that’s authentic.
If you want to grow your business, you really have to think like a marketer, without acting like a sleazy salesperson.
One of the easiest things you can do is just go audit your Facebook profile right now & try to look at it from an outsider’s perspective.
How to Make Your Facebook Profile More Attractive:
Ask yourself…
- Is your profile public & can people message you through there?
- As they’re looking at your profile, what would they see?
- Do you come across as confident, as a leader, as someone who provides value?
- Can they tell that you have a business that you love, which helps you live a life that you love?
- Is there anything to give them something to relate to you on, like kids, grandchildren, pets, etc?
- Is there something that makes them want to know more about what you do?
- Do you look like a go-to expert on a topic or would they just see a bunch of spammy posts telling people to buy your products or join your team?
- Do you come across looking like a crazy cat lady?
You have to BE the person you want to attract. That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be authentic, it just means to show up as your BEST self. People LOVE confidence.
People don’t buy products or companies, they buy PEOPLE. They need to feel confident they can relate to you and that you can help them with something if you want them to take action.
Let’s dive into talking about these marketing strategies.
What is the difference between active and passive attraction marketing?
It’s really what it sounds like. With active marketing, you’re putting a lot more of your time and energy into your networking and marketing efforts, where with passive marketing, you are setting some pieces in place that sort of run on autopilot to help bring in leads, customers, &/or recruits.
Active tends to be cheap or free, but more time consuming. Passive tends to be more expensive, but less time consuming.
For people just starting out, who maybe don’t even have their own website yet or much of a budget to work with, I recommend they start with active marketing strategies & start adding in some automation over time to get those leads coming in on autopilot.
Why should you start with Active Attraction Marketing?
Active marketing means you’re going out and finding people you’d like to have in your network and using posting strategies and conversations to draw them in and find out which of these people are good candidates for your product, service, or opportunity.
An example would be providing training or doing curiosity posts in Facebook groups or on your personal or business wall and then connecting personally with people who comment or like the posts and just starting conversation with them.
This is part of the daily strategy in my free S.M.A.R.T. P.L.A.N. GUIDE. If you don’t have that yet, you can grab it in the form below. It’s a daily action plan on how to bring in new eyeballs, attract their interest, and get them buying your stuff or joining your team (using ACTIVE Attraction Marketing methods). If you have it & you’re not using it and you’re complaining that you’re not getting results…. THIS is where you start.

There are several reasons I recommend to start with manual/active prospecting.
- First, it helps to get you get into some good habits, creating valuable content consistently, hone in your rapport-building and closing skills, and gain confidence and excitement in your business.
- It’s FREE! Can’t beat that!
- The skills you’re learning here will help you long-term. You’re building that muscle, learning how to prospect, build rapport, and close effectively.
- It’s duplicatable. In network marketing, this is huge because far too often, we see someone come in & get some huge results, but their team can’t seem to replicate that success.
- It’s simple and doesn’t require any fancy tools or a ton of time to implement. You can literally start with just cleaning up your Facebook profile & making a post.
What about passive marketing strategies?
I usually recommend someone do active marketing consistently for at least 3-6 months before they move into passive strategies, but it’s certainly ok to START with passive or start sooner, depending on your experience and time commitment to your business.
When I talk about PASSIVE attraction marketing, I’m referring to setting up systems that attract people in to you and get them pre-qualifying themselves as a lead, BEFORE you ever even talk to them. These are methods like creating a website/blog (optional), a lead magnet (freebie offer that would interest your target market), an email list, and some way to funnel people into taking a next step with you. Another option is using a Facebook business page combined with a chat bot that leads people through a funnel and gets them opting in for more info or getting on your calendar for a consultation.
Done right, you can have people already activated to you and what you’re doing, BEFORE you even talk to them….they may just sell themselves! It may require you to set up some more technical things, but there are tools to make it easier and you can hire out what you don’t want to deal with yourself.
When we’re talking about passive marketing, we’re usually talking about paid methods, but not always. I have grown my own Pinterest account to pulling in dozens of leads into my offers and have only done paid pins on a very small scale up until this point.
Most of my traffic is organic from Pinterest & I’ll have a course to teach you more about how you can do that as well in just a few months. For now, if that’s a strategy you want to get into, you can grab my Pinterest freebie, which will give you the first 10 steps you need to take to set up your Pinterest business account for success & then you will start hearing more from me about Pinterest strategy soon.
Important lessons I’ve learned about Active & Passive Attraction Marketing strategies…
First & foremost, once you’ve chosen your strategy, you need to be consistent with it in order to create results and if you’re a bit of a procrastinator especially, make sure you have set up systems in place to reduce the number of mental calories it takes to sit down & work on your business every day.
When I first started with attraction marketing using manual prospecting methods, if I hadn’t created a daily action plan and also some way to keep track of my contacts for follow-up, I would have gotten insanely overwhelmed.
Also, give yourself some grace. Building a business takes time. It doesn’t happen overnight for most people. You cannot compare your chapter 1 to someone else’s chapter 37. But what you CAN do is get curious about what’s working for them & figure out if it’s something you can implement with your own unique spin. Instead of getting frustrated, you have to get fascinated.
